Somatic Yoga Flow combines classical yoga asana with Somatic Education and is the result of 30 years of selfpractice and inquiry into yoga and embodied movement. Focus is on the internal experience and perception of movement, rather than on the external form of the asana. Somatic Yoga Flow has been designed to be a safe and effective way to utilize our self-healing capacity.
Somatic Education is a system of slow, mindful movement. It is a movement awareness practice that improves the function of the nervous system and creates more ease and freedom within our bodies. This work teaches us to recognize and release holding patterns and chronic pain resulting form injury, stress, repetitive strain, and habituated posture. Somatic Education is based on the somatic tradition of Thomas Hanna, a student of Moshe Feldenkrais. It enhances any kind of movement practice, such as yoga, dance, sports, running, or just moving through life.
